Sir Elton and David Furnish’s marriage certificate released
The civil partnership certificate documenting the marriage of Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish, has been released to the media.
The couple married in a civil ceremony on December 21st at Windsor Guildhall followed by an extravagant party at their nearby home attended by a crowd of A-list celebrities.
The certificates states that Sir Elton and Mr Furnish’s mothers were witnesses to the ceremony and that Sir Elton was described as a ‘musician’ whilst Mr Furnish’s occupation was listed as ‘film maker’.
The document also revealed that Sir Elton’s middle name is Hercules, a name he adopted when he changed his name by deed poll from Reginald Kenneth Dwight.
The certificate also states that Sir Elton was free to marry after the dissolution of his marriage to the German recording engineer Renate Blaul in 1984.
