Princess Diana’s home opened for gay weddings
Earl Spencer, the brother of the late Diana, Princess of Wales has been accused of cashing in on his late sister’s memory by opening up her ancestral home for gay weddings.
Althrop House, where the late wife of Prince Charles was brought up, can be rented out for £50,000 as a luxury wedding venue for gay and straight couples.
Couples will be able to pose for photographs outside of “Diana’s Temple”, the summer house beside the grave of the late Princess.
Gay couples will be able to consummate their marriage in the bedroom once shared by the Princess and her former husband, Prince Charles.
Simone Simmons, who describes herself as the late Princess’s confidant, expressed condemnation of the Earl’s plans: “Earl Spencer is a complete hypocrite. When Diana split with Charles and asked to move back to Althorp, he refused claiming he did not want police and strangers tramping over his estate.” She told the Daily Express. “Now he is renting out bedrooms and will be carrying out weddings there just for money. He should be ashamed of himself.”
