Gang leader gets Asbo for gay abuse
A gang ringleader has been given an Asbo after a hate campaign against a gay man and transgender female.
The gang abused and threw stones at tormented residents in Lancaster and raced high speed cars with music at loud volumes.
Carl Carter, 27, was handed an ASBO before city magistrates on Friday. He is banned from throwing any object that may cause alarm and from entering or inciting others to enter certain areas of the town.
He is also forbidden from associating with more than two people at a time, except for a selection of names.
Outside court PC Mark Finch said residents had made “numerous” complaints about Carter’s behaviour over many months, he said: “Hopefully the residents can now have a more peaceful and tranquil life.”
Any breach of the ASBO could lead to a fine or imprisonment for up to five years, or both.
