Desmond Tutu awaits lesbian kiss
A lesbian couple aims to deliver a kiss to Archbishop Desmond Tutu next month as part of a campaign to spread peace, love and goodwill.
Heather and Chloe Wolsey-Ottaway are promoting a new venture called, Kisses That Count, around the world, and will attend a charity event in New York where the Nobel Peace Prize winner will be a keynote speaker.
The couple will have a civil partnership in Cornwall this summer, the same time as their scheme is launched.
Chloe told the Western Morning News, “We are doubly excited, about the project we’re about to launch and about the trip to New York to meet celebrities who we hope will back our project. When we realised we were going I was jumping up and down with excitement – this is such a great leap forward for a venture that has involved lots of local people and lots of hard work.
“We can’t wait to launch Kisses That Count and explain to people exactly what it is we’ve been working toward for the last 18 months.”
Archbishop Tutu has voiced support for the scheme.
Ubuntu Education Fund’s first annual benefit will be held at The Puck Building in New York City on June 6 2006.
