“Sexual terrorist” joins Gaydar Radio
Big Brother 7 contestant Richard Newman is this week joining Internet and digital radio station GaydarRadio as co-presenter on the Saturday morning show.
Richard, 33, who calls himself a “sexual terrorist,” will team up with Julian Bennett for three hours of chat, fun, gossip and music from 10.00am – 1pm.
Canadian born Richard came fourth in this year’s Big Brother after spending 93 days in the most famous house in Britain.
Renowned on Big Brother for his quick wit, naval hats and tight white vests Richard worked as a waiter in London before rising to reality television fame.
On entering the house he said: “The boys will be climbing the walls to get out of the Big Brother house, but I will be dragging them back in by their underwear.”
Since leaving the house Richard has made a number of TV and radio appearances and also hosted Mr Gay UK.
Robin Crowley, programme controller at GaydarRadio, said: “It is fantastic to be able to welcome Richard to the team and we are sure our listeners will identify with his lively nature and sense of fun. We believe in bringing the best presenters to our listeners which is why they voted GaydarRadio Best Radio Station at the BT Digital Music Awards 2006 earlier this month.”
Richard added: “I have been an avid GaydarRadiofan for several years now and I love the upbeat and fun nature of the presenters and shows. I worked as a radio presenter in Canada for two years and also have a degree in TV and Radio Arts, so it is great to get back into the scene.”
