Gay gardener rejected
A Texas gardening company which refused a business partnership because the request came from a gay man has been inundated with complaints.
Garden Guy told Michael Lord he could not be met with last month because the company “chooses not to work with homosexuals.”
The landscapers proudly claim to follow the word of God, believing the grass is greener on the other side, and is against gay marriage, but now the owner Sabrina Farber has been mown down by verbal attacks and emails criticising her stance.
She told Reuters: “When we sent (the e-mail) we intended it for the client. We did not intend it to be some sweeping political statement for the world. That’s it.
“We are humbly sorry for the hurt that it caused. We meant no hate.”
She said thought it was her company’s right as a small business to decide who they employ.
“Do I want to say that before you send an e-mail you might think about the fact the whole world can see it? I guess I do,” she added.
