Paris Hilton could go back to jail
A judge has ordered Paris Hilton to appear in court this afternoon, following her release from jail last night for “medical reasons.”
The celebrity heiress and gay icon could be returned to jail, because the office of the Los Angeles City Attorney do not believe Sheriff Lee Bacca had the jurisdiction to release her, only three days into her 23 day sentence.
Paris Hilton was found guilty of breaking her probation and driving ban, but the medical condition that prevents her from staying in jail has not been disclosed.
Yesterday Steve Whitmore of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s office said: “My understanding is that she’s confined to her home with an ankle bracelet, she cannot leave that facility. She will fulfil the remainder of her time confined to her home.”
Before she entered prison, Paris Hilton said: “This is an important point in my life and I need to take responsibility for my actions. In the future, I plan on taking more of an active role in the decisions I make.
“Although I am scared, I am ready to begin my jail sentence.”
The star of The Simple Life Star was confined to her cell for 23 hours a day but got an hour to shower (presumably with fellow inmates) and to make telephone calls. She was not near any other inmates who could pose a threat to her personal safety.
The New York waxwork museum, Madame Tussaud’s is mocking Hilton. They’ve dressed her up in a black and white striped prison suit.
The London branch of the museum chain does not currently have a waxwork of the star.
