Gay rumours whirl around Prison Break actor
Wentworth Miller is reported to be “dating” one of the stars of new Channel 4 hit show Brothers Sisters – Luke McFarlane.
Celeb blogger Perez Hilton and gossip site TMZ both report that Miller, 35, and McFarlane, 27, are an item.
“Wentworth and Luke have been secretly dating for almost six months now,” a source told TMZ.
“They’ve been very quiet about their relationship, obviously, as Wentworth is not out of the closet.
“They spend a lot of time at each other’s house.
“Wentworth has been pretty reclusive since he’s become famous and he’s been even more of a shut-in since he started dating Luke.”
Wentworth, who shot to fame through the hit TV show Prison Break, has publicly denied he is gay.
Miller, who was born in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, said in January:
“No, I’m not gay. I know these rumours are out there…I’m cool with the fact that they exist, I mean this is about fantasy.”
The 35-year-old actor was nominated for a Golden Globe in the category of Best Performance by an Actor in a Drama Television Series in 2006.
Speaking out after persistent rumours about his sexual orientation circulated on the internet, Miller said, “Certain people are going to have certain fantasies.
“If someone wants to imagine me with a woman, or a man or one of each, that’s cool with me as long as you keep watching the show.”
McFarlane, who plays Scotty Wandell in Brothers Sisters, reportedly previously went out with Grey’s Anatomy star and newly-out gay TR Knight.
Miller was born in the UK because his father was studying here at the time. He moved to the USA when he was still a toddler.
The actor, full name Wentworth Earl Miller III, is of African, Blasian, English, German Jewish, Cherokee, Russian, French, Dutch, Syrian, and Lebanese descent.
He has become something of a gay icon as a result of his role in the homo-erotically charged prison drama.
