Herefordshire will be hosting a month-long LGBT festival in February.

Out in the Sticks will include a film festival, performances, live events and a one-day conference with health professionals tackling issues around being young, gay and ‘in the village.’

Starting on February 8th, the festival will also include a civil partnership fair, talks by Stella Duffy and Paul Davies and even a Gay Icon theme night at a local night club.

Out in the Sticks will run between February 8th and March 1st.

Police and local councils have lent their support to the month-long programme aimed at people living in Herefordshire, Worcerstershire, Shropshire and mid-Wales.

Herefordshire’s Equality Partnership is planning their contribution to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans History Month.

A spokesperson for Out In The Sticks told PinkNews.co.uk:

“This is a huge project in Herefordshire which is aiming to challenge small-town homophobia.

“We’ve got funding from various sources and we’re really going for it with a month long programme of events.”
