It’s been over 50 years since The Seven Year Itch was released but the sale of a newly discovered Marilyn Monroe sex tape proves that some folks will still pay top dollar to look up the bombshell’s skirt.

A New York City collector and businessman just paid a cool $1.5 million (£762,000) for the silent, black and white sex film of the famous blonde orally servicing an unidentified man for 15 minutes.

But unlike today’s celebrity sex tapes up for wide public consumption on the Internet, Monroe’s will remain under wraps for now.

“The gentleman who bought it said out of respect for Marilyn he’s not going to make a joke of it and put it on the Internet and try to exploit her,” Keya Morgan, the memorabilia collector who brokered the sale, told Reuters.

“He said, ‘I’m not going to make a Paris Hilton out of her. I’m not going to sell it, out of respect.'”

Morgan initially learned of the salacious tape from a former FBI informant while researching for a documentary and later tracked it down via the informant’s son.

Then FBI director and John F. Kennedy detractor, J. Edgar Hoover, allegedly tried in vain to prove that Kennedy was on the receiving end in the film.
