CNN reporter arrested in compromising situation
A British born news anchor for American news channel CNN has been arrested for loitering and possesion of an illegal substance.
The reporter, described on the news website as, “one of the most instantly recognisable members of the CNN team,” was found with a rope around his neck that was tied to his genitals.
Richard Quest, 46, was arrested at around 3:40 a.m. after a cop spotted him and another man inside New York’s Central park, a police source said.
The news reporter immediateley informed the police officer, “I’ve got some meth in my pocket.” The officer then searched the popular business reporters car and found a sex toy.
Among the effects reported by methamphetamine users are increased libido and sexual pleasure, the ability to have sex for extended periods of time, and an inability to ejaculate or reach orgasm or physical release.
In addition to increasing the need for sex and enabling the user to engage in prolonged sexual activity, methamphetamine lowers inhibitions and may cause users to behave recklessly or to become forgetful.
Mr Quest became a Trainee Journalist at the BBC in 1985, joining their financial section in 1987, and moving to New York City in 1989 to become their North America business correspondent.
Quest later worked for the BBC News 24 as a US correspondant, he later turned down a job offer from the controversial Al Jazeera channel on the basis that being Jewish and gay he might not be suitable.
At a hearing in Manhattan Criminal Court, Quest agreed to undergo six months of drug counseling in return for an “adjournment in contemplation of dismissal,” which means the misdemeanor charges against him will be dropped and the case sealed if he stays out of trouble and completes his drug programme.
