Dragons Den star to share business acumen with gay entrepreneurs
One of the ‘dragons’ from the popular BBC programme Dragon’s Den is to speak at a series of events for gay professionals.
Entrepreneur Rachael Elnaugh will attend the Village Drinks evenings.
Sir Michael Bishop will also be speaking at one of the special ‘Village Business’ drinks evenings.
They will share with members their own experiences of success and failure in business.
Village Drinks has a UK membership of more than 8,000 and holds events in London and Brighton. It is about to launch in Manchester and Bristol.
The organisers said the attendance of such senior business personalities illustrates the growing level of interest that the business community is taking in the gay market.
“Many of our members work in business, so we are thrilled that Sir Michael, and Rachael Elnaugh have all accepted our invite to come and speak,” Greg Healey, Co-Founder of Village Drinks, told PinkNews.co.uk.
“We want to inspire gay professionals of all ages to have ideas and make them happen, whether they are starting their own business or social venture or by making their mark at work.
“That is exactly what we did when we started Village Drinks.”
Sir Michael Bishop, chair of BMI is one of a handful of openly gay senior business executives.
“It is important that gay businesses everywhere learn the value of inclusion and acceptance within the workplace,” he said.
“I am delighted to be sharing my own experiences in the business world with the members of Village Drinks.”
The first ‘Village Business’ drinks evening will be presented by Ms Elnaugh at the Arts Club, Dover Street, Mayfair, on 17 July at 7pm.
