GMFA safe sex class for gay men returns
Gay men across the UK will have access to sex education that is not taught in schools.
Gay Men Fighting AIDS (GMFA), Britain’s leading health charity for gay men, will be providing a free one-day course that will give men valuable information about safe anal sex.
The GMFA’s famed “Arse Class” promises to teach men everything they need to know about their rears.
There will be information on how to make sex more comfortable, and why anal sex leaves people vulnerable to HIV.
Additionally, men will be instructed on how sexually transmitted infections can be transmitted through anal sex, and advice on lubricants and toys.
Matthew Hodson, Head of Programmes for GMFA, said:
“No one ever talks to gay guys about their arses and sex, we’re just expected to pick things up as we go along.
“A lot of guys approach us with questions about… how to maximise their pleasure and reduce their risks.
“Unfortunately, there’s a lot of superstition and misinformation and men get worried that they’re not having sex properly or safely.
“The Arse Class gives men the chance to explore the arse and find out the things that they’ve always wanted to know”.
The course is run by both GMFA and trainers from local gay charities and healthcare services including: The Sheffield Centre for HIV & Sexual Health, Southampton Gay Community Health Service, Yorkshire MESMAC, THT, MESMAC North East, The Eddystone Trust, The Armistead Project and LGF.
The Arse Class will take place on Saturdays from 10am to 5pm. The dates for the course are:
Saturday 11th Oct: Brighton, Leeds and Liverpool
Saturday 18th Oct: London, Manchester and Swansea
Saturday 25th Oct: Birmingham, Bristol and Middlesbrough
Saturday 01st Nov: Plymouth, Sheffield and Southampton
