Witness appeal following assault in Hyde Park gay cruising area
Police are appealing for witnesses following an attack on a man in his fifties in London’s Hyde Park.
The incident occurred at approximately 10pm on Sunday 21st September 2008 within the Rose Gardens in the park, an area popular with gay men.
The man received injuries to his face and neck during the attack. The suspect then made off with £1,700 worth of jewellery belonging to the victim.
The incident was reported to police on the 27th September 2008 and is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police’s Royal Parks’ Command.
This was an unprovoked attack, which has caused considerable distress to the victim.
The suspect is described as a Mediterranean-looking white man who is aged approximately 28 years. He was wearing dark tracksuit bottoms, a dark T-shirt, baseball cap and trainers.
