25,000 expected at massive HIV fundraiser in Florida
Today sees the start of White Party Week, a gay and lesbian event to raise money for South Florida’s oldest and largest HIV/AIDS charity, Care Resource.
Founded in 1983 as the Health Crisis Network, the group staffed by volunteers focused on providing a response to the epidemic with crisis intervention, social support and educational programmes.
Care Resource provides extensive services including medical, dental, preventative testing, case management, clinical research and meal deliveries to over 7,000 men, women and children affected by the HIV/AIDS.
This year’s theme is ‘The Gods & Goddesses of Mount Olympus’ and has a predicted turnout of 25,000 people.
The event runs from 26th November until 1st December.
