Lindsay Lohan may be questioned over alleged £250,000 diamond theft
Actress Lindsay Lohan is set to be questioned by police after £250,00 worth of diamond jewellery went missing during a fashion shoot.
The 22-year-old star modelled the gems during a shoot in London for fashion magazine Elle. The jewellery, loaned to the magazine by Dior, was found to be missing two days later.
It is thought that up to a dozen people at the shoot may be questioned over the incident.
Lohan’s spokesman said she would be “happy to cooperate” with police and added: “Lindsay hopes they find the missing items.”
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “We had an allegation of theft made to us on June 8th and that is being investigated.
“There have been no arrests yet. We want to speak to a number of people in connection with the inquiry.
“It is alleged it is a necklace and earrings with diamonds with an estimated value of £250,000.”
In a statement, Elle magazine said it had no reason to believe Lohan was in any way linked to the alleged theft.
In 2007, Lohan was reportedly dropped by the fashion label Louis Vuitton over allegations she had stolen clothing from the brand.
Recently, the star has spent more time in the newspapers for her relationship with girlfriend DJ Sam Ronson than her acting career.
