Man charged over death of Brighton trans woman to plead in New Year
A man arrested over the death of 29-year-old trans woman Andrea Waddell has appeared in court.
The man arrested, 41-year-old Neil MacMillan, appeared at Lewes crown court today.
He will enter his plea in the New Year on January 28th, the Reading Post reported.
MacMillan, a satellite installer of Bennett Road, appeared before Brighton magistrates two weeks ago accused of murder and arson with intent to endanger life.
Waddell was a graduate of Durham University and had been studying for an MA at Sussex University.
She was found dead on October 15th. She had been strangled and her bedroom set on fire.
Police revealed she had been working in the sex industry.
She had suffered a number of health problems throughout her life, including scoliosis, which is severe curvature of the spine, and fibromyalgia, the symptoms of which are insomnia and muscular pain.
