Man, 19, kidnapped and sexually assaulted in Texas
Two men have been arrested in connection with the kidnap and sexual assault of a 19-year-old man in west Texas.
The victim was reportedly picked up last Sunday night from a bar in Terlingua, near the Texas-Mexico border and driven in his own car to a remote location in south Brewster County.
According to the Big Bend Gazette, the suspects sexually assaulted him and set his car on fire.
The victim was taken to a nearby house and sexually assaulted again before he managed to escape and run three miles across the desert to a highway.
He was spotted by police and taken to hospital.
Daniel Martinez, 46, has been charged with sexual assault. Kristopher Buchanan, 27, is being held on outstanding warrants from other counties. The pair are expected to face additional charges.
Although local and gay press have speculated the attack could have been a hate crime, little information has been released.
A rally in support of the victim was organised last night.
