Belfast gay club Mynt loses licence
One of the premier gay clubs in Belfast has lost its licence.
The city council’s licensing committee decided not to renew Mynt’s licence, citing police allegations of customer drug use, alcohol being served out of hours and assaults.
A council statement given to the BBC said the licensing committee “took the view that in light of the available evidence, the applicant was unfit to hold a licence”.
A spokeswoman for the club, situated on the corner of Gordon Street and Dunbar Street, told PinkNews.co.uk: “We are sorely disappointed by Belfast city council’s decision.
“We will be rigorously appealing the decision.”
She added that the club would continue trading while an appeal is pending.
