Man admits sleeping with trans prostitute before her murder
A man accused of the murder of trans woman Destiny Lauren has admitted he had sex with her but denies killing her.
Ms Lauren, 29, who was born male, was found dead at her Kentish Town flat on November 5th 2009. She worked as a prostitute.
Leon Fyle, 22, of Catford, denies killing her but admitted in court this week that he visited her on the night of her death for an £150 sex session, the Hampstead and Highgate Express reports.
Ms Lauren’s brother, Linden Samuels, discovered her half-naked body when he returned to the flat later than evening. He told Snaresbrook crown court that he was staying with his sister but left the property while she had clients.
Ms Lauren was found strangled and tied up with her tights.
Mr Fyle told the court he saw her for 30 minutes and then left the flat.
He said he visited her because he was a bisexual man who was “intrigued” by trans women. He also admitted stealing a designer handbag from her room and said that after leaving her flat, he had sex with two women at a Kings Cross brothel.
The court also heard that Mr Fyle has a conviction for wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm for slashing a man in the face and chest during a sexual encounter in an alleyway.
