Video: Taiwan TV animates Sir Elton and David’s baby’s birth, complete with bondage gear
Cult Taiwanese news programme, Next Media Animation (NMA), has given its own slant on the news that Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish are celebrating the birth of their son, Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John. The animation features the couple in what appears to be some sort of bondage outfit playing with their child.
The animation broadcast last night sees the couple pushing the surrogate mother of their child off a hospital bed after she gives birth so that they can pose for a photograph with their new child.
The clip recounts their attempts to adopt a Ukrainian orphan with Mr Furnish posing as a woman.
It then continues to a bizarre scene where the couple appear to be playing with their baby wearing leather underwear and waistcoats and Sir Elton points a whip at the child. The couple then put a wig on the baby and offer it a pair of matching ‘Ken’ Barbie dolls.
It is just the latest in a series of disparaging media portrayals of the news that the world’s most high-profile gay couple are celebrating the birth of their first child. The BBC’s flagship News at Six included a critical interview with a fundamentalist who supports the public execution of gay men while the New York Post mocked Mr Furnish as Sir Elton’s ‘wife.’
