Video: Anti-homophobic bullying song in No 11 chart success
A charity single raising money to tackle homophobic and transphobic bullying has hit number 11 on the official UK Independent Singles Chart.
The L Project’s début single It Does Get Better aims to raise as much money as possible to help combat anti-gay and trans bullying using the most talented lesbian UK performers.
The song had previously hit number 2 on the iTunes UK Rock Album chart and number 1 in Amazon UK’s Best Sellers Rock and Folk Charts and has drawn nearly 100,000 views on Youtube.
Clare Balding, Billy Jean King, Sam Fox and Kirstie Allsopp have tweeted about the single and the L Project said today it was “really quite something” to reach number 11 without mainstream airplay.
Proceeds will go to Stonewall and Diversity Role Models.
