Connecticut: Man pleads guilty to killing woman he thought was having an affair with daughter
A man in the US state of Connecticut has pleaded no contest in relation to charges he killed a woman he thought was having an affair with his daughter, and then put her body in a freezer.
According to AP, 51-year-old Luis Otero entered the plea last week in New London Superior Court in exchange for a 28-and-a-half year prison sentence.
Otero is accused of killing his housemate, Madeline Brisson, in 2010.
An arrest warrant said Otero told a friend he “flipped out” when Brisson told him to move out of her house and implied a lesbian affair was taking place with his daughter.
The body of Brisson was frozen solid, according to police, and the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled that Brisson died of blunt traumatic injuries and asphyxia.
Otero has been held in lieu of $2 million (£125,000) bond since his arrest.
He’s due to be sentenced in November.
