Audio: Iowa radio host announces agreement with Ahmadinejad on ‘gays are ugly’ comment
A radio presenter in Iowa kicked off his show this morning by discussing the issues surrounding President Ahmadinejad’s visit to the US, and comments he made about Israel, to the US General Assembly, and homosexuality, on CNN.
When the interviewer asked Mr Ahmadinejad if he could publicly accept homosexuality as people are born gay, the president turned the tables on the presenter and asked: “do you believe that people are born homosexual?”
Jan Mickelson, who hosts his own show on Newsradio 1040 WHO, suggested that CNN should have questioned President Ahmadinejad on his address to the General Assembly, where he said “Israel has no roots in the Middle East, and would be eliminated”, rather than asking him about his stance on homosexuality.
Mr Mickelson concluded the section by saying that he agreed with Mr Ahmadinejad :
“And the weird thing is, you know, on that exchange I’ve got to go with that Iranian fellow,” he said “did I ever think I would be the position to actually agree with the potential-serial killing, nuclear-crazed [inaudible]. Talk about ironies. Anyway. Wow.”
