Daniel Craig talks up ‘gay’ 007 villain
Daniel Craig has suggested Raoul Silva, the villain in the latest James Bond film, could be gay.
Speculation over what has been described as an “erotically-charged scene” in which actor Javier Bardem’s character Silva apparently caresses the torso of James Bond in Skyfall, the latest installment of the 007 franchise has sparked heavy excitment among some.
In an interview with Movieline, Craig, who has resumed the role of the world’s most famous spy for the third time, said: “Someone suggested that Silva may be gay. And I’m like, I think he’ll fuck anything.”
Craig, who said that he “loves the scene,” added “I don’t see the world in sexual divisions.”
According to the Huffington Post, this week, the blue swimsuit that Craig donned in the now-iconic Casino Royale beach scene reportedly sold for $72,000 (£44,590) at a charity auction in celebration to mark 50 years of the Bond franchise.
