France: Book claims far-right nationalist Jean-Marie Le Pen had gay experiences
A book has claimed that the far-right French nationalist Jean-Marie Le Pen had a homosexual experience with fellow politician Andre Labarerre, the former MP and mayor of Pau.
Mr Labarerre says the pair experienced a “tender initiation into pleasure between men” in the 1970s. In the 1980s, it is claimed that Le Pen wrote a letter to Mr Labarerre saying: “In memory of our delicious moments spent together.”
Le Pen has previously denied homosexual experiences saying that Mr Labarerre “fantasised” about him.
The claims were made in ‘Le Pen, a French Story’ by Pierre Pean and Philippe Cohen.
Despite being a convicted racist and anti-Semite, Le Pen received a standing ovation at a World Jewish Congress in New York in 1987 after calling for the PLO office in Paris to be shut down, the book reveals.
