Daniel Radcliffe: Fast-paced gay sex scenes were something new but nothing to worry about
Daniel Radcliffe has spoken about filming gay sex scenes for his new film, and said that it was “something new” but that he didn’t “worry about it”.
Talking about new film Kill Your Darlings, which premiered at the Sundance film festival on Friday, the Woman in Black star said filming the scenes was “fast-paced”, and he didn’t have time to have doubts about it, reports Digital Spy.
In the film, he plays the late poet, Allen Ginsberg, who meets writers William Burroughs and Jack Kerouac at college, following a murder.
“It was something new,” he said. “But you know what, we shot that whole scene in maybe an hour and a half so it was incredibly fast-paced. I didn’t really have time to stop to think and worry about it.”
He added: “[Director] John [Krokidas] was very helpful in furnishing me with a lot of graphic detail of what I would be experiencing at the various stages.”
“We were able to hang out a little bit on set and get to know each other a little bit, which I think is important when you’re doing a scene so intimate. You have to feel like you’re both in it together.”
In February last year, Daniel Radcliffe who has been honoured for his work promoting suicide-prevention charity the Trevor Project, was among those discussing bullying in an issue of Attitude magazine.
