Texas teen boy fights to wear dress to high school prom
A high school senior in Texas is fighting to wear a red dress, high heels and a blonde wig toĀ a schoolĀ prom.
Tony Zamazal, a student at Spring High School in Texas,Ā feels more comfortable dressing as a woman andĀ has been wearing womenās clothing as often as he can, reports KHOU.com.
The student explains that he was ready to make his big debut dressed as a woman at his high school prom butĀ claimsĀ the schoolās assistant principal, who is in charge of prom dress code,Ā said no.
Zamazal claims: āHe told me it just wasnāt in the dress code. [the principalĀ said] ‘women wore dresses, and men wore tuxedos’.ā
Not satisfied with what the assistant principal had to say,Ā Zamazal is now ready to take a stand.
āIf I do get to go as a woman, I will be ecstatic,ā explains Zamazal. āIf I donāt, it would be devastating, because I put myself out there.ā
ZamazalĀ added: āItās not okay to just tell people, they canāt be the way that they are. Itās not just a choice of the way you look. Itās more of who you are.ā
A spokeswoman for Spring Independent School District says Mr Zamazal can fight this by taking his request to the principal of Spring High School.
The spokeswoman was not able to explain the dress code policy for school dances.
