US: Actor and gay rights advocate James Franco honoured on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Outspoken equal rights advocate and Hollywood actor James Franco, was honoured with a star on the Walk of Fame this week.
The Milk, star has spoken out in favour of equal rights, and has been clear about his support for gay people by his handling of gay rumours about him – often saying he doesn’t mind if people think he is gay, even though he is not.
“It’s something I really didn’t even expect,” said Franco, commenting on the honour.
“You know when I got to LA, I’d come here and you’d see the stars and it just seemed like it was something that was just part of the city and you’d never crack that.
“It’s just part of Hollywood history and it’s still baffling that my name will be there. So thank you – it’s a huge honour that I really can’t even comprehend right now.”
The Oscar-nominated star of 127 hours, as well as Spiderman, is soon to make his Broadway debut in Of Mice and Men.
