Survey reveals searches for gay porn are top in countries banning homosexuality
A new survey of porn search habits has revealed that, in some of the countries with the most adamantly homophobic laws, the word gay comes up more often than countries without them.
In the interactive survey, run by porn search engine PornMD, were published global searching habits, and it appeared to show that gay porn was even more popular than straight porn in countries where homosexuality was illegal.
In Pakistan, where gay acts are illegal, “indian gay sex video” is number one, while search term “gay” comes up again at number three, and number ten of the top ten.
In countries such as Kenya, where gay acts are an imprisonable offence, the second most searched term was “monster cock (gay)”, and “fake vagina (gay)” came in at number ten.
In Nigeria, which has the death penalty for being gay, the fourth most searched words were “South African gay porn”. “Black lesbians” showed up at number seven in Ghana, where being gay is also illegal.
In Iran, where homosexuality is punishable by death, five out of the top ten search terms contain the word gay, including “daddy love” and “hotel businessman”.
In 2007, during a World Leaders Forum, the President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told students at Columbia University: “In Iran we don’t have homosexuals”.
Meanwhile in South America, the Peruvian top ten search terms all contain the word gay, and one of them is “Justin Bieber”. Chile follows shortly behind with 9/10 terms being gay, and Venezuela has 8 out of 10 search items containing “gay”.
In European countries with equal marriage, or civil partnerships, gay search terms rarely feature in the top tens. France has only one term in its top ten containing “gay”, and the UK has none.
Nearby Ukraine, however, has three out of its top four terms containing the word gay. The Ukraine recently gave initial approval to an anti-LGBT censorship law.
