UK: Mother of murdered gay teen Michael Causer speaks to Stephen Fry for LGBT documentary
Marie Causer, mother of gay teenager Michael Causer who was killed in 2008, has spoken to Stephen Fry for a documentary.
Marie Causer and husband Mike set up the Michael Causer Foundation after 18-year old Michael was murdered at a house party in Liverpool.
Marie said: “We have just done some filming with Stephen Fry last month.
“He is doing a documentary going round different countries to see how gay people are treated in society.
“He was lovely. He was very impressed with what we are doing and thanked me for being willing to support young gay people.”
The Michael Causer Foundation aims to help young LGBT people who have been made homeless.
TV presenter Fry tweeted that he was planning to film a two-part documentary about being gay globally. He recently flew to Russia to film problems the LGBT community faces, where a bill banning the promotion of homosexuality is being proposed.
