Labour MP Angela Eagle urges LGBT community to cast their votes for 2013 World Pride Power List
Shadow leader of the House of Commons, Angela Eagle, says she’s proud to be supporting this year’s World Pride Power List “because it provides an important opportunity to celebrate and highlight the achievements of LGBT people”.
A global search to find the top 100 most influential LGBT people is underway and organisers are urging the public to cast their votes before the 30 May deadline.
The World Pride Power List 2013 will celebrate achievements of LGBT people and will be published in London on 19 June.
The list was launched for the first time last year when US actress, Jane Lynch, hit the top spot. Others to make the top 100 included LGBT politicians, celebrities, business leaders and entrepreneurs.
Britain’s first out lesbian MP, Angela Eagle, entered the list at number eleven last year.
The Labour MP said: “I’m proud to support the World Pride Power because it provides an important opportunity to celebrate and highlight the achievements of LGBT people the world over.
“I’m urge people from the LGBT community to take part and nominate the people they’d like to see on the list.”
