Video: Lords Shadow Equalities Minister Baroness Thornton comes Out4Marriage
The Shadow Equalities Minister in the House of Lords, Baroness Thornton, has recorded a video coming Out4Marriage, ahead of next week’s vote on the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill, in the Lords.
In the video, Baroness Thornton who will lead the bill through the Lords, alongside Baroness Royall, says: “I was very proud when our Labour government put through the start of the campaign for equal marriage. I think basically, we should get on with it. There are enough people in all of the political parties to put this through.
“I think any two people who love each other enough to get married, should be able to get married. They should be able to get married equally, so I’m Out4Marriage, are you?”
Lobby a Lord was launched today by equal marriage campaign group Out4Marriage, and allows users to either lobby a randomly picked peer ahead of next week’s debate, or search and identify peers based on their equal marriage or LGBT rights stance.
