Photos: Pro and anti-equal marriage rallies at Houses of Parliament
A second day of demonstrations are taking place today outside the House of Lords, both for and against equal marriage, as peers prepared to vote on an amendment which would decide the fate of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill.
Around 150 anti equal marriage, and 100 pro-equal marriage campaigners gathered outside the House of Lords, as the vote on an amendment tabled by Lord Dear, which could be “fatal” to the Marriage (same sex couples) Bill, if passed, is imminent.
Among the anti-equal marriage campaign was The former leader of the Christian Peoples Alliance, Alan Craig. The majority of the pro-equal marriage demonstrators represented Labour, Liberal Democrats and Conservative party members, representatives from Out4Marriage, Stonewall and the Peter Tatchell Foundation. Human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell was also in attendance.
