Oxford: Man left shaken after homophobic assault
A man has been abused and assaulted in a suspected homophobic attack in Oxford.
The 29-year-old victim was kicked, punched and verbally abused by two men near Barclays Bank in Cornmarket Street, Oxford, at 1.38am on Tuesday.
The victim had a conversation with the pair, who pushed him before attacking him using homophobic language.
He did not require hospital treatment but was left shaken by the ordeal.
Both suspects were described as white, with short hair, and both wore blazers or suit jackets with elbow patches.
No arrests have so far been made.
Figures show there were 112 homophobic-related offences recorded from April 2011 to the end of March 2012, compared with 143 in the following 12 months.
