Rylan Clark: I’ve had Twitter trolls say ‘get cancer and die’ you ‘gay fag’
Rylan Clark says he’s been subjected to a flurry of vile abuse on Twitter – ahead of his new presenting job on Big Brother’s spin-off show.
The Daily Star reports the 24-year-old was subjected to a barrage of threats and abuse as he prepared for the show’s launch later this week.
One poster called salweed tweeted: “@RylanClark get cancer and die” and then branded him a “gay fag”.
Other trolls slammed Rylan’s looks and voice just two days before he co-hosts Channel 5’s Big Brother spin-off show Bit On The Side.
Rylan was the winner of Celebrity Big Brother in January.
Last night he brushed off the jibes, saying: “It makes me laugh how people are quick to judge before I’ve even started.”
In May, Blue’s Duncan James spoke out about the homophobic abuse he had been receiving online.
“These days people can be absolutely vile on Twitter,” Duncan said. “One troll wrote, ‘I hope you get AIDS and die, you faggot.’”
