Milton Keynes: Woman victim of homophobic assault has her face dragged against a wall
A woman in Bletchley was subjected to homophobic abuse by a man on a bike, who proceeded to push and drag her face against a wall.
In the late evening last Sunday, a 23-year-old woman was assaulted by a man on a bike who shouted homophobic abuse at her.
As she turned around, the man pushed her face against the wall while still cycling, causing her face to drag against the wall before she fell onto the ground.
She suffered grazing and bruising to her face but did not need hospital treatment.
After attempting to give chase, the woman lost sight of the offender. The man was wearing a grey hooded top with the word ‘Nickolson’ written on the left arm in white print. He was riding a grey woman’s mountain bike.
An investigating officer of the Milton Keynes Police Department, Annabelle Bailey, said: “We are treating this as a hate crime due to the comments the offender made to the victim before he assaulted her.
“We take all hate crimes extremely seriously and will not tolerate any form of homophobic-related offence.”
