A woman has told police that she was raped at knifepoint in Brooklyn on Sunday, and that she was told by her attacker that he did it because she is gay.
Law enforcement sources said the 26-year-old said she was followed by a man and attacked at Franklin Avenue Java Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, on Sunday shortly after midnight.
The victim told police that the man forced her to the ground and told her he was going to rape her because he thought she was gay.
She told police the attacker said to her: “I’m doing this to you because you’re gay”, reports the NY Post.
After the attack, the victim was taken to Woodhull Hospital, police confirmed.
