Facebook UK adds ‘feeling Pride’ icon following passing of same-sex marriage act
Facebook has rolled out its ‘feeling pride’ status icon to users in the UK following the passing into law of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act on Wednesday of this week.
The status icon has been available to US users since the Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act and the constitutional ban on gay marriage in California (Prop 8). It displays a rainbow symbol next to status updates and posts the words ‘Feeling Pride’.
To use the Pride icon please follow these instructions:-
1. Compose a new status
2. Click on the emoticon (next to the camera icon), choose Feeling
3. Type in “pride” after Feeling
4. The Pride rainbow will be added to your status
