Lincolnshire man found guilty of homophobic harassment
A Lincolnshire man has been found guilty of harassing his neighbours in a homophobic manner over a period of two months.
Robert Pearson, 62, from Hogsthorpe admitted to harassing a gay couple who live next door to him from April to July this year.
Appearing at Skegness Magistrates Court he admitted that he hated his neighbours because they were gay.
The prosecution described Pearson as being a “very, very homophobic” man who had abused his neighbours on a daily basis for a long period of time.
In 2011, Pearson was convicted of a similar offence against the same two people.
He has been sentenced to a 12 month community order with supervision and is being made to undertake a victim awareness module as well as having an indefinite restraining order placed upon him in addition to court costs and victim compensation.
