Spot the difference? Tory MP switches Twitter profile pic to Matt Damon as Liberace’s lover
Tory MP Michael Fabricant, who has consistently voted for gay rights has changed his Twitter profile picture to an image of Matt Damon as Liberace’s lover from this year’s Hollywood biopic about the flamboyant star.
Mr Fabricant rebelled against the then leader Iain Duncan Smith to vote for the abolition of Section 28, the now defunct ban on the “promotion” of homosexuality in schools to minors.
Matt Damon, who is also a staunch supporter of LGBT rights and equal marriage, played Scott Thorson, famed pianist Liberace’s former lover, in the movie biopic about the star, Behind the Candelabra, alongside Michael Douglas this year. The film won three Emmys.
He also retweeted a message from a follower suggesting that a fancy dress wig looked like his hair.
Is it still OK to go to a fancy dress party as @Mike_Fabricant? pic.twitter.com/2JkcNjhAMe
