Britney Spears says gay people are ‘adorable and hilarious’
Britney Spears has caused controversy by saying that she enjoys hanging out with gay people because “they are adorable and hilarious”.
The ‘Crazy’ star made the comments during an interview with San Francisco’s 99.7FM radio station.
She said: “A lot of my hair stylists and my beauty team that I work with are gay so I hang out with gays a lot and I just think they’re adorable and hilarious.”
Despite being known by some as a gay icon, Spears recently came under criticism from gay rapper Mykki Blanco, who accused her of exploiting her gay fans with her music.
In a 2011 poll by the Equality network, Spears was named the ‘ultimate gay icon of all time.’
