US: Indianapolis City Councilmember soon to marry same-sex partner
A member of the Indianapolis City Council has said he will marry his same-sex partner next week.
Zach Adamson, a councilman, told the Indianapolis Star that he and his partner Christian Mosburg, are to be married in front of friends and family members in the city of Washington DC next week.
The wedding of the 42-year-old Democrat comes as legislators in the state of Indiana are expected to debate whether to put a constitutional amendment banning equal marriage, on the 2014 ballot.
The councilmember said he would prefer equal marriage to not be a divisive issue. He is widely regarded as the state’s first openly gay county-wide official. He was elected in 2011.
