Alex Pettyfer to star as ‘hot’ gay action hero in film
Director Lee Daniels has revealed he is working on a film starring British actor Alex Pettyfer as a gay action hero.
According to Daniels, audiences should expect a gay “Mr and Mrs Smith” – but with “two good-looking guys”.
Of Pettyfer, Daniels said: “He’s so hot, isn’t he? So hot. And so aware of his hotness in a way that’s so…I love him to death.”
The actor who will star alongside Pettyfer in the new film has not yet been chosen – although he will play a black character – making it a interracial gay couple.
Daniels, whose latest release “The Butler” has been met with much critical acclaim, has said that he is not worried about funding the new film: “I don’t think I’m going to have a problem now. I made a $100 million for The Butler. I’m in a rare group. So this is something I feel good about”.
Rising star Pettyfer starred in stripper film Magic Mike last year, and there are rumours that he is in the running for a part in the new Star Wars film.
