NOW: Video celebrates 25 years of National Coming Out Day
A video posted today by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), celebrates 25 years of National Coming Out Day.
Featuring clips of the coming out stories of Ellen DeGeneres, Ricky Martin, George Takei, Chaz Bono and Lance Bass, and many others, the video. Across the US and around the world, users of social media of all sexualities and genders sent messages of support to those coming out today.
National Coming Out Day is an internationally recognised civil awareness day celebrating individuals who publicly identify as LGBT. The day is observed annually by members of the LGBT community and allies on October 11.
