Members of the gay community in Greater Manchester who use drugs and/or alcohol are being urged to join a focus group by the Lesbian & Gay Foundation.

TheĀ ā€˜Part of the Picture’Ā research project, delivered by the LGF and the University of Central Lancashire, is exploring drug and alcohol use among gay and lesbian people.

Itā€™s hoped those taking part will talk about their experiences of accessing help, advice or support for drug and/or alcohol use.

The focus group will be held in November at the LGFā€™s Community Resource Centre in Manchester.

Drug use among the LGBT population is generally higher than for heterosexuals.

At the start of the year, a report in the Lancet showed there had been a rise in the use of crystal meth on Londonā€™s gay scene in the past 12 months.
