US: Jon Stewart’s Daily Show explores South’s attitude towards gays with secret cameras
Responding to statistician Nate Silver’s prediction that Alabama and Mississippi would be the last states to approve equal marriage, Jon Stewart sent two men undercover, posing as a gay couple, to debunk the idea that people in the South were homophobic.
After finding out that Silver had never visited the states, The Daily Show sent the men around Mississippi using hidden cameras.
Surprisingly the cameras captured a lack of homophobia, and instead found a celebration of their love.
