Police in Chichester appealing for witnesses to homophobic assault outside kebab shop
Police in Chichester have appealed for witnesses after a homophobic attack was carried out near a kebab shop.
Chichester Observer reports that a 16-year-old was assaulted in a “homophobic” attack last Saturday, on November 2.
The assault took place outside the Stavros Takeaway, in Southgate, opposite The Globe Inn, around 12:30am.
The victim was approached by an 18-year-old man who made homophobic remarks and challenged him to a fight before punching him in the face.
The suspect removed the victim’s hat and threw it on a nearby roof. He also knocked a hot chocolate drink from the boy’s hand, and threw his glasses into the road, where he stamped and crushed them.
