US: Archbishop of New York says Catholic Church has been ‘outmarketed’ on equal marriage
The Archbishop of New York Timothy Dolan has said that the Catholic church has been “outmarketed” on equal marriage.
The Cardinal went on to say that the church had been “caricatured as being anti-gay”.
The comments were made by Cardinal Dolan, during Meet the Press, which will air on NBC on Sunday, reports the Associated Press.
When asked why he thought the church had been losing its argument against equal marriage, he said it was difficult because it is up against film stars, politicians and “some opinion-molders”.
He said however; that the equal marriage debate was not over, and that the church would not give up its battle against it.
