US blogger Perez Hilton to appear in TV series about gay dads
Blogger Perez Hilton is to appear in, and act as executive producer for, a new reality series about gay dads.
Perez, real name Mario Lavandeira Jr, became a father to his first child, a son, in February.
The blogger and internet personality wrote that he wanted his readers to read the announcement directly on his site, and went on to thank readers for being loyal to his site.
He posted a photograph of himself and his son, whose name was not given, alongside the post.
Gay Dads of New York will document a group of fathers, some single and some married, as they support one another in raising their children.
Perez released a statement which read:
“Up until now people know me more for my opinions than who I am. This show will give viewers the opportunity to get to know the ‘real’ Perez Hilton and my family, as well as some other really dynamic gay dads, and the women that make up their support system.
“I am a recent transplant to New York City, looking for friends and open to – hopefully – love.”
The series will be produced by Bunim/Murray Productions, which are behind Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and The Real World.
